A welterweight clash between Shavkat Rakhmonov and Ian Machado Garry will serve as the co-main event of UFC 310 later this evening (Dec 7.) at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Rakhmonov (18-0) is often regarded as the boogeyman of the welterweight division. The Kazakh native is a prolific finisher, boasting a 100 percent finish, a rare feat at the top levels of the sport.
With spectacular grappling prowess and credible stand-up skills, the 30-year-old is one of the most well-rounded fighters in the division. Making the matchup more interesting is the fact that 'Nomad' has submitted Garry in training.
Garry (15-0) however has warned his opponent not to judge him based on their past sparring sessions. The Irishman asserts that he has vastly improved as a fighter since then.

Seeing how well he has done so far in the UFC, Garry's confidence is justified. At 27, he has established himself as one of the best strikers at 170 pounds. 'The Future' holds credible wins against the likes of Michael Page, Neil Magny, and Geoff Neal among others.
Per the bookmakers, Rakhmonov is a -375 favorite for the match-up with Garry as a +295 underdog.

Round 1
The fighters are employing a cautious approach, trying to get a read on each other. 'Nomad'' forces a clinch and has his opponent back up to the cage. Rakhmonov is unloading knee strikes on his opponent.
Rahkmonov tries to drag his opponent to the mat but the Irishman expertly maintains his balance. Rakhmonov is still weighing heavy on his foe near the cage. Garry reverses position and almost takes the 'Nomad' down.
Rakhmonov defends it, reverses position, and forces Garry onto the cage. As the pair separates 'Nomad' unloads a big right hand on Garry.

Round 2
As the second round unfolds, Garry is using a cautious approach and is trying to fight on the outside. 'The Future' is employing jabs and low kicks to try and pick apart his opponent from range.
Garry unloads a high kick and Rakhmonov blocks it. While 'Nomad' stuns the Irishman with a right hand, forcing 'The Future' to clinch up. Rakhmonov now has his foe backed up to the cage. This is turning out to be a very close round.
Despite his persistent efforts, 'Nomad' is unable to secure a takedown on Garry. 'The Future' throws a spinning back fist on the break and misses. Shortly after Rakhmonov partially lands a spinning back fist of his own. A very, very close round

Garry throws a head kick, but gets blocked by 'Nomad'. He is employing kicks from range to try and mount an offensive. Garry catches his opponent with a 1-2. Rakhmonov misses with a right hook and 'The Future' clinches up.
Rakhmonov reverses position and is once again trying to take 'the Future' down. The referee separates the fighters. 'Nomad' connects with a jab to the body. Rakhmonov misses with a spinning kick to the head.
'Nomad' ends the round unloading a huge right hand which snaps Garry's head back.

Round 4
Garry unloads a body kick and Rakhmonov explodes forward with a flurry. He backs up 'The Future' with a spinning back kick to the body. 'Nomads' once again clinches up, and backs his opponent to the cage, Garry however reverses position and lands a punch on the break.
Rakhmonov explodes, secures a single leg, and takes 'The Future' down. The Kazakh native unloads a flurry of strikes on his opponent. Garry forces his way to the feet and attempts a guillotine but 'Nomad' slips out with a nasty arm drag.
'The Future' misses with a spinning back fist and Rakhmonov pounces on a single leg and takes his opponent down. He unloads bombs. Garry tries to lock in an arm bar but fails amid his opponent's relentless pressure.

Round 5
Rakhmonov counters with a jab as his opponent tires to close distance. 'Nomad'commits to a single leg but Garry reverses position. 'The Future' takes his opponent's back and locks in a rear naked choke. 'Nomad' is in trouble. Rakhmonov explodes out of the choke and reverses position.
'Nomad' now has top control, but is still trapped in his opponent's body triangle. Garry tries to arch up and reverse his opponent to try and lock in a kimura, but fails to secure it.
As the fighters make their way back to the feet, Rakhmonov still has Garry clinched up against the cage wall. Garry ends the round landing a spinning back fist on his opponent.
